City-Wide Infectious Disease and Microbiology Research Rounds – Doxycycline for STI Prophylaxis

Join us this fall for the citywide infectious diseases (ID) and microbiology rounds! This week we will be hearing from Darrell Tan, who is an Infectious Diseases physician and Clinician-Scientist at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Tan will be giving a talk titled: “How to be a doxy doc without getting doxxed: A review of the evidence on doxycycline for STI prophylaxis”

Learning objectives:

  1. To understand current evidence on the safety and efficacy of doxycycline chemoprophylaxis against bacterial STIs
  2. To discuss practical strategies for applying this evidence in clinical practice
  3. To recognize unanswered questions regarding doxycycline for STI chemoprophylaxis and ongoing research aimed at addressing these questions
