DESCRIPTION:Join the Ontario Veterinary College\, University of Guelph for their 2026 Chappel Memorial Lecture will featuring Darwyn Kobasa\, Head of the High Containment Respiratory Viruses Group in the Special Pathogens Program at the National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) in Winnipeg. \nDr. Kobasa will deliver a timely and important lecture titled: “H5N1 Influenza in Canada: Risk\, Transmission\, and Vaccine Strategy”\n \nEstablished by OVC alumnus Clifford Chappel (Class of 1950) in memory of his father\, the Chappel Lecture brings world‑leading scientists to their community each year. \nKobasa’s work focuses on emerging zoonotic respiratory viruses and the development of medical countermeasures\, including vaccines\, antivirals\, and antibody‑based therapies.
