SUMMARY:Emerging pathogen containment: An introduction to research approaches workshop
DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting a trainee workshop titled: “Emerging Pathogen Containment: An introduction to research approaches”. \nIn this workshop\, trainees will get an inside look at how research involving high containment pathogens is conducted in academic environments. The sessions will include an overview of the Canadian regulatory structure for work with emerging pathogens\, case studies of program redesign\, interactive risk assessment activities and a walk-through tour of the Toronto High Containment Facility. \nTrainees at EPIC partnered institutions or trainee members of Canopy (Canadian One Health Training Program on Emerging Zoonoses) are eligible to register for the workshop\, but spaces are limited and will be assigned based on first responses. \nNote: Lunch and coffee will be provided! Certificates of completion will be available upon request. \nWhen: February 5\, 2026\nTime: 9:00 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.\nWhere: RM2278\, Medical Sciences Building\, University of Toronto (St. George Campus)\nCost: Free! \nRegister for the workshop using this form.
