EPIC member Will Navarre hosts Robert Britton (Baylor College of Medicine) as part of the Department of Molecular Genetics seminar series.
Advances in synthetic biology have given rise to opportunities to use bacteria to sense and respond to human disease. In this seminar, Britton will highlight two projects in his laboratory that use different platforms to sense and/or deliver therapeutics for the amelioration of colitis and automimmune diseases. He will share insights into how each platform performs and detail some of the unexpected findings that have emerged from delivering therapeutics to the gut via engineered microbes.
