We are pleased to invite you to a special seminar featuring Bali Pulendran, PhD, Professor of Pathology and of Microbiology & Immunology at Stanford University. Pulendran is a global leader in systems immunology and vaccinology.
Pulendran is the Director of Stanford Medicine’s Institute for Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection. His current work integrates multi-omics, computational modelling, and immune profiling to understand how innate immunity shapes adaptive responses to infection and vaccination. Dr. Pulendran has led the field in applying systems approaches to study immunity to infection and vaccination in humans. His notable work includes the discovery that dendritic cells (DCs), one of the key cell types orchestrating the immune response, comprise multiple functionally distinct subtypes. He also discovered the mechanisms by which microbial stimuli program DCs to modulate T-helper responses. His research has had a significant translational impact on vaccine design and immune monitoring, with publications in Nature, Science, Cell, and The New England Journal of Medicine.
