Galit Alter will be presenting at this special seminar organized by UHN and hosted by Bradly Wouters.
She will present her pioneering work on developing systems serology, a technology that has revolutionized our understanding of the immune system’s response to infectious diseases.
**Dr. Alter’s bio**
Dr. Alter is an immunologist, microbiologist, and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and group leader at the Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, MIT, and Harvard University.
She is known for developing the Systems Serology platform and the Systems Fc-engineering tool, which allow researchers to understand functions of antibodies and map interactions between antibodies and cells of the innate and adaptive immune systems that facilitate clearance of infectious agents. She also served as the Immunology Research Lead at Moderna. Her ongoing research focuses on developing innovative technologies to deepen our understanding of the immune system functions and advance vaccine and therapeutic development.
