Why do the greatest problems get the least attention?

Kevin C. Kain, Canada Research Chair, professor of medicine at U of T, director of Sandra Rotman Centre for Global Health and science director at the Tropical Disease Unit, UHN- Toronto General Hospital will deliver a keynote lecture at the Global Leadership Series (GLS), hosted by the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health.

His presentation will address:

  • the global burden of preterm birth and fever syndromes in paediatrics
  • how infectious diseases mediate organ dysfunction in pregnant people and children
  • the complex interaction of the physical, behavioural, developmental, psychological, economic, microbiological, and cultural factors that permit adherence to novel diagnostic testing and interventions
