Antimicrobial resistance threatens to undermine decades of medical progress, from routine surgeries to cancer treatment. This cluster brings together microbiologists, pharmacists, clinicians, health researchers and One Health experts spanning agriculture, veterinary medicine and evolutionary biology to track resistance patterns, develop new diagnostic and treatment strategies, and inform the stewardship policies needed to preserve the antibiotics, antivirals and antifungals we rely on today and in the future.
To tackle this at a national level, EPIC is proud to be a partner in CAN-AMR-Net, a Canada-wide, One Health-focused network working to train the next generation of AMR researchers and coordinate research across human, animal, and environmental health sectors.
